BLUE LIGHT IS IMPORTANT, BUT...
Blue light in the visible spectrum is in the 380 -500 nanometers wavelength. This is the highest energy of any visible light. In sunlight, blue light helps us regulate our circadian rhythms to keep us awake. However, large amounts of blue light from artificial sources, such as digital devices, causes problems.
BLUE LIGHT FROM SMARTPHONES CAUSES PROBLEMS
Blue light from smartphones travels deeper than UV light into
the eye. The naked eye cannot block this light and repeated
exposure can damage the retina which maintains our vision.

- HYDROEDGETM Protection blocks 33% of blue light (on average)
- Blue light is close to invisible, harmful ultraviolet light. Hydroedge is adjusted to decrease the wavelength around 450nm, and largely cuts off the wavelength around 380nm, which is generally known to be harmful.
- On the other hand, we do not cut off wavelengths outside the blue light range. Average of 33% in the blue light wavelength range is most beneficial to the user.
- Some products say “blue light 90% cut” is most likely only referring to the transmittance around 380nm. If the product really cuts off 90% of the blue light in all wavelengths, the screen will lose all the blue color and will look green (refer to the image below right).
- The HYDROEDGETM rate is well balanced between visibility and cutoff rate.
